Facts

Did you know?
13,780 high school students enrolled in construction training in Georgia last year.

47-percent say they will go to work in construction. 36-percent say they may seek a career in construction.

3,170 seniors graduated in 2004; 1,490 went to work in construction or pursued training and education in construction after graduation.

Thanks to the construction industry's investment in CEFGA, Georgia students are prepared and pursuing careers in construction.

How do we do it?

  1. CEFGA identifies high schools or technical colleges with existing construction training programs.
  2. CEFGA works with schools to accredit their programs and ensure students are learning relevant skills from industry-certified trainers. Through classroom and hands-on instruction, students earn credentials from the NCCER - National Center for Construction Education and Research.

  3. CEFGA facilitates job site tours, a spring CareerExpo, summer internships and other activities throughout the year to ensure students are aware of the construction industry.
  4. Individual companies, trade associations and others recruit directly from the high school and technical college programs.
